Don't mention the bathroom
Fantastic location,quiet and convenient . Small dated room with a bathroom the size of a cloakroom..but the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is great..Had a very pleasant stay..

Fantastic deal as booked last minute for an event at the Royal Albert Hall. Literally 5 mins walk from the venue, with a great selection of shops and pubs 5 mins the other way (also where Gloucester Road tube station is) the hotel was perfectly situated for our needs. Whilst we didn't make use of the food arrangements, we could see a busy breakfast time restaurant which is always a promising sign and every member of staff we encountered were polite, courteous and accommodating. A beautiful old hotel, with updated bedrooms, boasting modern en suite facilities and extremely comfortable beds, whilst not compromising many of the original featires of the building. My only suggestion would be air conditioning, or at the very least a fan in the room, as whilst the hotel is not situated on a particularly busy road, sleeping with the window open in London proved a little noisy at times. All in all though, a fantastic visit and we will certainly book again for future events.

Lovely Hotel
Really nice hotel with lovely friendly staff. Nice room overlooking gardens. Good breakfast.Stayed in December with friends, visited again with my son in April.Very handy for the tube station around the corner. In a nice location with eateries & bars a couple of minutes away. Can walk to Hyde park. Holland Park, Albert Hall museums etc. Would definitely come back .

Our booking advised breakfast was included however when we checked in we were advised this was a continental breakfast. This is something I would expect in mainland Europe but the term ‘breakfast’ in the uk usually implies Full English available and a continental would be specified on the booking. This was the only disappointment. The quality of the continental breakfast was lovely but we just didn’t know this was all that was on offer because the booking wasn’t clear.

Delightful Hotel In a Great Location
My sister and I stayed for one night at The Strathmore Hotel as we were attending a concert at the Royal Albert Hall, and the hotel is perfectly located just 10 mins walk away. The hotel was lovely and I cannot fault it. We enjoyed a friendly and professional check in experience, and even had our cases carried up to our room for us, which was a nice touch. The room (executive twin) was spacious, clean and comfortable. Our booking included the continental breakfast the next morning, and we were very pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the food offered, it was just like being on holiday abroad! I had previously had a terrible experience with a hotel in the same area, so chose the Strathmore this time instead and I am so glad I did. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and will definitely stay here again when visiting this particular area of London. Thank you to all the staff who made our visit such a pleasure.
