Great location, friendly staff, comfortable, class
Had a lovely anniversary break at the Gem Strathmore. Brilliantly located to the tube, Kensington Gardens and charming streets. Lovely touch with Cream Tea, a very comfortable room, great breakfast too. Would definitely stay again!

Nice stay at a nice hotel
Nice hotel, and nice value. Needs a touch up, but is a very cool atmosphere in a very cool building.

Great Hotel in an Excellent Location
LOCATION: Great location if visiting The Albert Hall, at max 10 minute walk away. Located about 8 minutes walk from Gloucester Tube Station, which is only about 25 minutes on the tube from Euston Mainline Station (1 change at Victoria). Walking distance from Kensington Hight Street which has lots of lovely shops, bars and restaurants (there are also lots of the same on the walk to Kensington High Street. Hotel is on a quiet road opposite a garden square. DECOR The hotel decor in the public areas is very traditional (which we liked). The bedroom decor is very boutique (which we also liked) - the best of both worlds. There is a lovely cosy bar where we had a cream tea in the afternoon , we also had a night cap there after our visit to The Albert Hall. FOOD The cream tea that we had was delicious and beautifully presented. Breakfast in the dining room was well cooked and plentiful. There were continental choices plus a hot breakfast selection. STAFF The best part of this hotel is all of the staff - from the people on reception through the bar staff and the dining room staff. All of the people we encountered were friendly, very helpful and efficient at their jobs - they are a credit to the owners, they made our stay supper easy and pleasant.

Anniversary break
Very pleased with our stay, with two exceptions. Our double bed duvet literally just covered the top of the bed, nothing hanging over the sides, so we needed to use the spare blanket to ensure both if us were covered during our nights sleep. Having advised the hotel in advance of our stay, that I was gluten intolerant, I was pleased to see gluten free cereals and bread, but on being offered a full English breakfast, there was no gluten free sausage provided, and the hotel did not seem to cater for this.
