I'll go there again
Pleasant hotel on Bolsover Street, just a short walk from Great Portland Street Tube station. You pass 'below' the Holiday Inn, and it's on the left side of the road. Mahogany themed interior to the lobby/vestibule. This is carried over into the major bedrooms. Staff are very accommodating; will happily store your cases if you arrive too early for check-in and will try to complete as much of the registration formalities as can be done in advance. Extremely clean place, and rather quiet, given its location, close to the Undergound system. My bed was very comfortable indeed, with a double bolster arrangement for the pillows; just right. En-suite bath/shower/toilet is small but well proportioned and the hot water is scalding hot, so be aware. Beautifully cleaned. Breakfast in the Lower Ground restaurant is as expected from a decent hotel. Ample choice, all good stuff served here. Really nice service and the cleanliness is, again, impressive. Overall, the mahogany-stained wooden paneling, leather sofas in the Reception area, fairly deep carpets everywhere (all in good condition), cleanliness, friendly service, make this a place worthy to be considered. I noticed also that it is less expensive than staying at the Holiday Inn Regents Park, by a fair amount. First class location for the City and for the West End, too. Soho/Chinatown? 30 mins away, including a couple of short walks and a bus or Tube ride. Central enough for me to go out in the morning, lunch in Town, return for my siesta and go back to Town for my evening, before returning comfortably by public transport. I like it. I'll go back the next time I visit London.
